A great hardcore gamers console.
I truly enjoy playing on the xbox, I've had mine for 3 months now and it is a great socialising experience also (You get a headset with this Elite Version).
I have made many friends through games such as street fighter and the connection through xbox live is very good.
Although the down factor is you have to pay for the service, but I think it is quite cheap considering how great the connection is the majority of times, even though you may run in to lag occasionally.
I do find that sometimes it does lag on the main board of the system, which does irritate me and should not be an issue for a company such as Microsoft, however this is not such a big deal, if you want a hardcore gaming console, I suggest you go for the xbox, it is not only an excellent gaming experience but also an excellent socialising experience.

I chose and xBox over a PS because the controllers are so much better, the top spec is cheaper than the PS. xBox LIVE is so much more refined and better than PSN. You can write games to the Hard Drive (backup when disc gets scratched). Built in Facebook, Twitter, Zune and more! You can't get Forza on PS and you can access your computer files and watch Live and Recorder TV with Windows Media Center. The HDMI port and cable come free. You can watch SKY with Sky Player. The Hard Drive is removable so you can take them round your friends!
BUT the Play Staion 3 looks better, better quality, free Online membership, built in Blu-Ray player, better graphics.
A further BUT; I would get neither and get the Xbox 360 Slim coming soon with Kinect, that will be like a wii but with no controller and an xBox the rest of the time, it will have a removable 250GB HDD and looks much better. It can sign you in by looking at your face - how cool is that!

I have never been a big fan of games consoles, but the xbox won me over. I have always had a god high spec PC and believed that I did not need a console as the PC had better specifications and had far more games available. I won an Xbox whilst at a Microsoft event and it sat unused for a while, after I first tried it out and could not get used to the controller after years of using a keyboard and mouse. I was feeling I'll one day and decided to give it one last chance, boy am I glad I did! after a while struggling with the controller, it suddenly felt natural.
The quality of the images are amazing, some of the newer software advances have made this a key element in my home entertainment system. The movie download service is superb as is the sky player service. The recent inclusion of both a Facebook and a Twitter client have made this an invaluable piece of entertainment equipment.

xbox 360 with enough memory for all the family to play on and save there games music pics videos on unless you download everything on to your xbox and save loads of games this is the perfect xbox package
