Great value package July 16, 2010 Too old The offer including the game, lead, etc is fantastic value. You could pay more than this for the basic X box elite.o
The Basic Review June 15, 2010 BigBadDog (Heathfield) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I'm no games console expert so this is for those of you who don't already know everything about this console. This must be the best buy on an xbox 360 console at the moment. For £10 more than the Elite you get Final Fantasy 13, a second wireless controller (which are a joy to use) & twice the size hard disk. And there is the HD cable & extra game offer here. The chipset appears to be the Jasper version, the latest which is rumoured to be more reliable. I found this console was quite and did not run hot- frequent complaints on previous models. The only annoying 'fault' is the dvd drive. This rattles. Not on dvd playing or cut scenes but always when reading data. The internet is awash with reasons for this and you soon get the idea that not every xbox 360 user is an electronics engineer. The solution is to copy your game to the massive hard disk prior to playing and although you still need the disk inserted to play there is no rattle as data is not read from it. Transfering the game to the hard disk is really easy and takes no more than 5 minutes. The only other thing to note is that if you do not have a high definition tv, or have an old cathode ray tube one as I do, then the menus/text on screen can be a little hard to read. Maybe in the next version they can bundle a HD tv with it ! Oh and by the way, besides the nicely printed box the Final Fantasy decoration on this console just consists of the name etched in silver on the top of the hard disk drive on the top, that's it, nothing to sit for hours admiring. There you are then , hope this helps.
Don't be fooled by the name! June 8, 2010 Visage (East Susex) 4 out of 10 found this review helpful
It's not a true Elite console don't be fooled by the name.
All previous elites have come with an HDMI cable but this one comes with composite! Yes that's right composite the cheapest 360 cable possible if it had been the component AV cable that would have been fine, but no this is called a Super Elite only because it comes with a big hard drive but has the connection quality of the budget 360 Arcade console.
Really recommend June 7, 2010 B. S. Hunt (GB) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Despite the dear price tag the console itself is unbeatable the graphics combined with the simplicity of it all make it buy far the NUMBER ONE CONSOLE.
I have had it for over a month now and the batteries for the controllers still have a lot of life left in them. The 250gb memory really makes a big difference.
People say that your going to get the red ring of death but there are no problems whatsoever.
250 Gb Super Elite XBox 360 April 15, 2010 Rebel Hacker (East Sussex, England) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The large hard drive makes game and map packs installation second nature, and much more enjoyable, without the constant sound of the DVD spinning. This enchances the whole gaming experience, including making games load faster.
